The 2010 disc golf season is giving way to a new experience and winter scene at Highbridge Hills!  But before we make that announcement, let’s reflect on what has happened at Highbridge this past year.

Through the efforts of volunteers and staff, the Bear course has been completed and the baskets are in the ground. White tail has the front nine in with baskets in the ground. The back nine of Bear and the entire Whitetail course will be playable once mother nature and spring allow us to open it up in 2011! Tee pads are going in as we speak. This will give Highbridge  a total of 7 eighteen hole disc golf courses: Blueberry, Granite, Gold, Woodland, Bear, Whitetail and Chestnut Grove which has been expanded to 18 holes and has the world’s largest playable basket on hole # 18…….14’ in diameter and 18’ tall and painted red, white and blue with 50 chains…..one for each state in the union!

In addition, several more courses have been added by creating courses from combining the first 12 holes of one course, adding new tee pads and fairway extensions, and then connecting the final 6 holes of a “sister” course with a new tee pad and fairway to the #13 hole. By “Highbridge Luck”, this has been achievable on Blueberry, Granite, Bear, and the Whitetail courses. Bear/Woodland will continue to be a “combo-course but with changes made to Bear, the crossover will take place after 9 holes now. In addition, the World’s Final Nine and the Crown Jewel and White Gold will be listed as additional courses. So in 2011, WE WILL HAVE NEW SCORECARDS FOR 14 COURSES (18 hole) AND 1 (9hole) COURSE! In doing so, we will be offering new and different packages for YOU and YOUR families to visit and stay with us in an affordable way. We ask you to consider making your reservation request early for this upcoming year!

New “Highbridge” benches now are in place at a good percentage of the holes as well as garbage pails and tee signs. Brand new tee signs are being made as we speak!  Additional brushing has taken place and will continue and new water hazards are awaiting you! We added golf carts for playing only Granite Ridge and Gold this summer.Camping and accommodations are changing and being improved upon, you can always ask or just “discover for yourself” once you arrive! For the first time since we started our project….we have electricity in our clubhouse, along with ice cream and sodas. Our pro shop averaged about 350 discs on display for sale and our start to OUR line of clothing. By December, our on line store will have clothing, gift certificates, vacation packages and more for you to purchase…..some great gifting ideas!
